28 Aug The Importance of Numbers

We all know that numbers aren’t the most important aspect of a church- creating disciples is. It is exciting, however, when your church does seem to get bigger and bigger, as long as you have excitement for the right reason. It is worth noting, however, that large churches are not just bigger versions of small churches. They are completely different types of church and need completely different types of leadership. Small churches are most likely able to be led by just 1 or 2 pastors. A large church would not last very long if it were only led by 1 or 2 pastors. A large church needs to be set up in a way so that people can get to know each other outside of Sunday morning, and there needs to be several staff in place for the different ministries that are in place. This takes careful planning- you can’t expect to just jump in blind to lead a large church. Numbers are great, but be prepared for them.
