How To Lead Others
In this workshop, Brandon Cox talks about the relational aspects of leading others well. At times, its easy for us to get frustrated leading people and lean on our authority and power to lead them. But Brandon gives us 4 words that can help you to navigate how you are doing leading those under you and make sure that you are relationally leading them well.
My name is Brandon, and I can’t wait to dig into the subject of how to lead people. I was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America in high school, and I really thought someday I’m gonna lead people. But I didn’t have a clue as to how to get there. And then I surrendered my life to ministry and started leading a church, and jumped in at age 19, way too young and way too early for what I jumped into, and learned a whole lot of things the hard way. And actually, pretty early got burned on the idea of leadership, and I thought I don’t want this. I don’t want this.
And then there was this eight year segment of my adulthood where I fell in love with the people. I went to a church full of people that were hungry and ready to reach others and serve others, and they actually wanted to know what I had to say about things. In that period of my life, I fell in love with the idea of leadership. And I just wanted to share some of the core elements of what it is to lead people, and some of the ways that we do that on just a day to day basis.
