9 Tips To A Sustainable Ministry Life

Too many pastors go out of ministry before they’ve finished their race. Now, we’re not talking about pastors coming to the end of their ministry term and saying, “You know what? I’ve done my piece. I’m gonna leave the ministry.” That’s fine, but we see too many pastors going out of ministry before they’ve really finished their race and their cause. So we’re very interested in the sustainability of pastors.

In this workshop, we are going to hear from John Finkelde who has pastored for 30 year and has spent the last five years consulting and coaching with pastors. So he is going to provide us with 9 tips to help you create and maintain a sustainable life in ministry so that you can last for the long haul.

Team Application Guide

In this Application Guide, we will be going over the 9 tips that John Finkelde provided and diving a little bit deeper to see how you are doing in sustaining yourself in ministry. Ministry is hard, and if we don’t take a good hard look at what we are doing and how we are doing it, we’ll find ourselves overworked, overstressed, and burning out long before we finish the race.

To begin, print out the notes for this video and go through the teaching video, either by yourself or maybe together as a team. Write down anything major that stands out to you in the video so you can share after. Then print off a copy of this Application Guide for yourself and for your team. Work through the Team Discussion Questions listed below with your team and then begin working individually or as a team together through the What’s Next Section.
