You know what? People like to celebrate. Taking time to celebrate your volunteers will go a long way in their minds. Yes, they’re serving because they want to get involved with the church and be an example of Jesus to others. However, don’t make it seem like a thankless job! If you take the time to thank your volunteers and let them know they’re appreciated, you’ll not only reinforce their usefulness, they will probably recruit their friends to serve alongside them!  Have a party for them, give them a $10 Starbucks card. Any gesture will not go unnoticed and will be greatly appreciated, mostly because it’s unexpected.
