4 Habits Of A Hard To Follow Leader

Being a leader is hard but sometime we make it hard for others to follow our leadership.

If you dont take time to slow down and figure what personal habits are making you a bad leader, then your team will become inward focused, protecting themselves, new leaders won’t step up and ultimately you’ll become  irrelevant and ineffective as a leader

We’ve all heard of a “to-do” list well over the next few minutes we’re going to make a “to-stop” list with 4 habits that make you “hard-to-follow” leader.

Team Discussion Guide

Habits are an essential part for any work environment if it’s going to function and be effective. However, over time it’s easy for leaders to pick up bad habits along the way that make it difficult for other to follow them.

If you’re a leader, there is no way you want to be one that is hard to follow. You spend way too much time communicating, casting vision, and equipping others for it all to go to waste. But as we saw in the video, many times we get stuck in these “bad habits” that make it really tough for our people to give us their best. So in this workshop, we are going to give you some questions for you to work through that are going to help you identify bad habits and come up with ways to replace them with better habits.

To begin, watch the video and print off this guide. You may choose to take your leadership staff through this workshop or just use it for personal use. Then read through the bonus habits that might be making you hard to follow. Write down any observations you get from them. Then begin working through the What’s Next section to begin identifying your next action steps as a leader. Make sure to give yourself key deliverables (how will I know when this is done) and due dates.
